Do you find yourself in the coastal village of Umhlanga Rocks? Are you a fan of the iconic British rock group, Queen? For those that said yes to both questions, you’ll be thrilled to know that from April the 19th, a tribute to Freddie Mercury and Queen will commence in the nearby Umhlanga Ridge! This event, known as Killer Queen, is the latest production from the Barnyard Theatre, a versatile entertainment and event venue situated in the Gateway Theatre of Shopping, Umhlanga Ridge and with a seating capacity for 430 people. From April the 19th to May the 29th, this company will present Killer Queen, featuring a skilled ten-piece cast who will perform many of the hits of Queen as well as of their fantastic frontman, Freddie Mercury, from his solo career. The legendary band’s work spans multiple music genres, including hard rock, pop, funk and progressive rock. Queen was known for their style, epic concerts and theatrical performances. The versatile cast members of Killer Queen are more than able to render these hits with such a level of skill that will amaze you and ensure your stay in the Umhlanga area will be well worth remembering. Some of the performances are already sold out, including the first two nights!

Queen is one of those legends of rock music that left a mark in the history of the music industry. Producing many hits since  their first release including We Will Rock you, You’re My Best Friend, We Are The Champions, Somebody to Love, The Show Must Go On, Love of my Life, A Kind of Magic, I Want to Break Free and Bohemian Rhapsody. Their energetic frontman Freddie Mercury, a genuine showman, also enjoyed a successful solo career with classics such as The Great Pretender and Barcelona. Their music even featured for the Highlander franchise, with the smash hits Princes of the Universe and Who Wants to Live Forever?
