The J&B Met 2016 – A Rare Blend

12193623_941841595862582_5018419215298517889_nA much-anticipated and colourful event returns to the Cape Town suburb of Kenilworth on January, the 30th, 2016. Get ready then, locals of and visitors to the Mother City, to take part in this visually arresting scene (many have started already, with a keen interest in the theme of the J&B Met of 2016).

But before we give you the theme, for those who don’t know, the J&B Met is the oldest and most popular horse race in all of South Africa, well-known to even those who do not attend (they can, of course, read about it and see the pictures in the news the next day). However, as much as this attraction is about horse racing, it has long been additionally known as a fashion event, distinguished for its kaleidoscope of colour, with visitors dressing to astonish with originally designed apparel.

With this in mind, and without any more introduction, here is the theme for the J&B Met of 2016:

A Rare Blend

J&B is famous for being a rare blend of 42 whiskies combined to create an original taste. Inspired by this statistic, this theme will give visitors the opportunity to display what makes them a “Rare Blend”. With such a theme, it is expected that there will be many unique combinations of colour, exceptional arrangements and never-seen-before designs. What do you plan to wear to the J&B Met of 2016?

What else can you look forward to?

Besides the horseracing and dressing up, attendees have even more reason to dress their best because there is an award given to the Most Elegant Couple.

Who knows who you might bump into? The J&B Met is well-known for drawing famous TV celebrities!

When you will be desiring some refreshment, the Public Village is on the winning straight and features a food village, public bar facilities and plenty of shaded seating. Entertainment on the day will be provided by Cape Town’s finest DJs such as We Love Summer, Strange Loving and Kinky Disco as well as some of South Africa`s top artists, including Jimmy Nevis, The Kiffness and Crazy White Boy.
