The Garden Route and the stunning area of Plettenberg Bay are home to a number of animal sanctuaries and Monkeyland is one of the most popular, housing these playfull creatures in an enviroment that allows them to live happily and safely. Monkeyland is currently home to 18 differant species of primates, 11 of which are free roaming in the main 12 hectare Monkeyland forest while the other 7 species live in large cages within the forest, or else living at the nearby Birds Of Eden.

Some of the playful species you can expect to find here include the Black and White Ruffled Lemur, the Ringtail Lemur, the spectacled Langur, the Black Howler Monekt, Bolivian Squirrel Monkeys, Red Back Bearded Saki's and the White Handed or Lar Gibbon which is Monkeylands only Ape species. This lovely sanctuary is surrounded by an indigenous forest and aims to create awarenessabout the plight of these primates to show that we can all exsist harmoniously. With tours on offer and over 550 primates in total, guests will certainly be captivated by these adorable and intriguing moneys. Guests can also enjoy the souvenir shop and restaurant,viewing deck and 128 metre suspended canopy walk.
