Matjiesvlei Cottages are situated in Matjiesvlei, at the foothills of the Swartberg Mountain Range only 16 km from Calitzdorp. The spectacular mountain views, along with the mixed farming activities of the valley provide a tranquil atmosphere. The valley is a dead end and, therefore quiet, peaceful and away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Matjiesvlei offers guests 3 fully equipped self catering holiday homes that are let out as separate units. All cottages are equipped with linen, towels and fully equipped kitchens.
The typical little Karoo town of Calitzdorp lies on Route 62, about four hours drive from Cape Town and roughly half way to Port Elizabeth. Calitzdorp is renowned in its own right for a number of reasons, not least of which is its bona fide Klein Karoo character.
The Klein Karoo is a gorgeous part of the Cape Floral Kingdom that functions as something of a mini desert - sparse, dry and arid countryside interjected by surprisingly fertile valleys, through which mountain streams meander to provide a source of water for the surprising amount of fruit grown in the area.

Cancellation Policy
- Cancellation 14 days or less before arrival, on day of arrival, during the stay, no show: full payment due.
- Cancellation 15 to 28 days before date of arrival: full 50% deposit payable.
- Cancellation more than 28 days, full deposit, but a extra cost per booking (not per person) will be kept back for administration fees.
If booking is between 15 December and 10 January or Easter:
- Cancellation less than 60 days before, deposit will be kept back.
- Cancellation more than 60 days, refund of deposit, administration fee per booking will be kept back.
- Act of God: Alternative stay will be discussed.
