Marshall Farm, Vermaaklikheid

Marshall Farm is a traditional 4 bedroom thatch family friendly farmhouse nestled along the Duiwenshok River one of the Overbergs best kept secrets, in the wildly beautiful and charming hamlet of Vermaaklikheid.

The main bedroom contains a king size bed, the second bedroom contains 2 single beds, the third bedroom also contains 1 queen size bed and 2 single beds and is on a mezzanine level with a privacy screen but is not a closed room. The fourth bedroom contains 1 queen size bed and 1 single bed. There are 2 bathrooms, 1 with a bath and 1 with a shower. All bed linen, bath towels and swimming towels are provided.

The kitchen is fully equipped including a fridge/freezer, oven/stove and a microwave. The unit also includes a TV with DSTV connection where guests have the option of bringing their own DSTV decoder and card, and a iPod docking station is available on request. The farmhouse offers a built in BBQ as well as the river jetty and an umbrella is provided for guests to utilize.

Located on the banks of the Duiwenshok River on the southern coast of South Africa, lies a sleepy little hamlet called Vermaaklikheid. Loosely translated from Afrikaans to mean ‘enjoyment’, ‘entertainment’ or ‘recreation,’ it is a perfectly fitting name for such a wildly beautiful spot, seemingly untouched by the hand of time. There are various activities to do such as hiking, fishing and much more.
