Melkbosstrand Beach

Melkbosstrand Beach and its surroundings offer you a relaxing yet exhilarating sight, with views of Table Mountain and Robben Island across the beautiful stretch of the Atlantic Ocean. This beach, which is essentially the start of the famous West Coast region, enjoys excellent weather conditions for wind and kite surfers. Melkbosstrand Beach is also ideal for boating and crayfish enthusiasts, with a safe slipway and is just across the road from the NSRI's (National Sea Rescue Institute) Station 18. Take a leisurely walk along the beach and enjoy the views, especially during sunset or enjoy a splash in the water, although we recommend you wear a wetsuit before doing so since the waters of the Atlantic Ocean are known to be icy.
