Stellenbosch

The attractive tiny town of Stellenbosch is located in the Jonkershoek River Valley, about an hour's drive from Cape Town, and is encircled by the Stellenbosch Mountains. The second-oldest town in South Africa is surrounded by some of the most exquisitely preserved specimens of Cape Dutch, Georgian, and Victorian architecture. A pleasant morning activity is to stroll down Dorp Street, a national landmark, which is a charming old section of Stellenbosch with quiet alleyways, water furrows, international eateries, and coffee bistros with stunning views of the mountains, vineyards, and orchards.
