Hoedspruit

Hoedspruit is mostly an agricultural town that is close to the Kruger National Park. It is also bordered by game-rich terrain, making it a natural stopover. Because of its affiliation with some of the best "Big 5" viewing in South Africa, what formerly consisted of just a few shops, a bank and a small rondavel that served as a station building has developed into what is now advertised as a major eco-tourist destination. Despite the numerous scheduled airlines that fly into the nearby air force base that is now conveniently used for civilian flights, Hoedspruit nevertheless has a lot of its rural appeal.
