Glen Ashley

One of the suburbs of Durban North is Glenashley, which along with Umhlanga and La Lucia has become one of the most sought-after places to live in Durban. The cosy suburb of Glenashley is located north of the Umgeni River and the Blue Lagoon, which serves as the finish line for the thrilling yearly Duzi Canoe Marathon. It is home to family homes and safe complexes, excellent schools, and a way of life that includes beaches, shopping centers and sunny days. On the north bank of the Umgeni River, you are not far from the Beachwood Mangroves Nature Reserve. The area serves as both a natural sanctuary and a center for environmental education. The black, red and white mangrove swamp is a popular destination for school excursions because of its sea snails, creeping plants and magnificent birdlife, which, if you're lucky, includes the mangrove kingfisher and Natal nightjar.
