Durban North

The upscale neighbourhood of Durban North is located just 15 minutes to the north of the city of Durban, on the northern side of the Umgeni River Mouth. The majority of this stunning region of the world was originally a coastal dune forest system and remnants of it may still be found in the mangrove swamps. The Umgeni Bird Park also attests to the large number of birds that were drawn to the region. Recently, Umhlanga saw a boom. What was formerly Umhlanga Rocks town, with a scattering of cottages, hotels and guest homes, is now a booming neighbourhood and the playground of young and old who travel here for the immaculate beaches, hotels and other attractions.
