Boksburg

South Africa's Gauteng province's East Rand is home to the suburb of Boksburg. Boksburg was first developed in 1887 to serve the nearby gold mines and was given that name in honour of Eduard Bok, the South African Republic's State Secretary. A diverse industrial and mining hub can be found in Boksburg. It has grown to be one of the Witwatersrand's most significant centers for the production of gold. Boksburg is a heaven for shoppers and is home to the East Rand Mall, one of Johannesburg's busiest and largest malls. The East Rand Shopping Mall features all the chain stores, eateries and theatres that are characteristic of such establishments.
