Jambo guest house has welcomed guests from all corners of the world since first opening their doors in December 1995. Many of these guests have become close friends and many return frequently. Guests are welcome to enjoy the communal lounge, breakfast room, our sunny courtyard, and our tranquil garden whenever they wish.
 
Built at the turn of the century and nestling in a quiet cul-de-sac at the foot of Signal Hill in Green Point, this amazing Guest House is set in a sub-tropical walled garden in the heart of urban Cape Town. Jambo is centrally situated, a safe 15 minute walk to the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, whilst Green Points trendy restaurants are only 5 minutes away. Jambo guest house boasts four luxuriously appointed En-suite double Bedrooms and the Garden Honeymoon Suite with its own Spa Bath.

    The Bay Room at Jambo Guest House is a large elegant room with stained glass sash windows overlooking the garden. A genuine Victorian Fire-Place with a marble mantle is reminiscent of yesteryear. The room also boasts an antique Oak Table with two chairs and a small Writing Bureau. Persian Carpets cover the polished Oregon Pine floors and a small charming chandelier lights the room.

    A beautiful canopy is suspended from the ceiling, matching the quilted overthrow on the bed. The queen-size bed is equipped with dual control electric blankets and flexible reading lights and also has a bedside table and a radio alarm clock.

    In the Bay Window is a sleeper-couch which will comfortably accommodate a third person sharing the room.

    The en-suite bathroom has imported Victorian style fittings and heated towel rails with colour co-ordinated fresh towels and amenities. The uniquely shaped bath is both comfortable and water saving and has an excellent overhead shower. The bathroom features tiled floors and walls as well as a fairly interesting use of wallpaper. There is a well-lit, large mirror on the wall. The bathroom wall within the room features an imaginative exposed-brick wall, glass bricks, as well as handcrafted Kiatt doors with sandblasted glass panels, letting in natural light while still ensuring privacy.

  • Garden Room

    The Garden room is the largest of the rooms at Jambo Guest House and is also known as the Honeymoon Suite. The room opens onto the garden, which offers direct access to the street.

    You can lie in bed looking at the garden while listening to the birds chirping with several chandeliers hanging from the original ceiling which has exposed beams. The room is well endowed with many lights and has a romantic Four Poster Bed. The table and chairs on the raised section with balustrades create an intimate dining or working space in addition to all the furniture in the room being antique.

    In the front of the room is a sitting area with two large chairs with leather seats and an occasional table as well as a sleeper couch and a Teak wardrobe.

    The bathroom has a spa bath with a hand shower and an overhead shower. The basin pedestal is Solid African Mahogany and is complemented by beautiful wall lights. The ceiling and walls were painted by a professional artist featuring Trompe L`Oeil paintings. A top window pane was left clear, so that one could see the church steeple in the distance.

  • Rose Room

    The Rose Room at Jambo Guest House gets its name from the Rose Garden that was once in front of its window. The Rose Garden has become what is now fondly refer to as `The Jungle` with a quiet bench under the Frangipani Tree where one can sit and read a book or meditate on ones own.

    The room has recently been renovated and now has more contemporary décor with interesting touches of African Hardwoods.This room is large, the windows have beautiful blinds, and several ceiling and wall lights light up the room.Under a very large quilted overthrow nestle two single beds, each with its own electric blanket. Beds which can be made up as single beds, or pushed together, making a large king size bed. The bedside wall mounted light fittings, are uniquely hand crafted and can be pulled and brought closer when wishing to read in bed. Two leather bedside tables are placed on each side a Persian Rug Runner at the foot of the bed is and on the side. There is also a sleeper couch tucked into an alcove.

    The TV and the Mini Bar Fridge are hidden in an antique oak wardrobe which has a full length mirror on one door.

    The Bathroom has fresh, colour co-ordinated towels. It is fitted with a uniquely shaped bath that is both comfortable and water saving, plus an excellent overhead shower. The electrically heated towel rails offer guests warm fluffy towels and take the chill off of the bathroom in the winter months. Hand crafted Oak Doors with sandblasted rose designed glass panels, as well as glass bricks built into the wall, complete the bathroom.

Important Information

- All reservations require one night’s full deposit or 50 percent of the total stay for 2 nights or more. Written confirmation is issued on receipt of this deposit.
- Full payment of accommodation is due and payable on arrival.
- All major credit cards are accepted.
- We are not able to accommodate children under 12 years.
- In event of a no-show the full amount is payable unless we are able to re-let the room.

Cancellation Policy

- All cancellations incur a 5 percent penalty.
- Cancellations less than 7 days prior to arrival will result a forfeit 100 percent of the total accommodation cost.
- Cancellations between 8 and 14 days prior to arrival will result in a forfeit of 75 percent of the total accommodation cost.
- Cancellations between 15 and 21 days prior to arrival will result in a forfeit of 50 percent of the total accommodation cost.
- Cancellations between 22 an 28 days prior to arrival will result in a forfeit of 25 percent of the total accommodation cost.
