Sedgefield is a coastal town on the Garden Route, situated on the banks of the Swartvlei Lagoon, which is a popular spot for swimming, canoeing and fishing. Bird-watching is available here too, with a channel known as Kingfisher Creek, connecting the ocean to the lagoon.

The town, though small, features a wide array of restaurants, cafés, bars and stores. Additional famous activities that guests can check out while staying in Sedgefield include hiking along various trails, camping and caravanning sites, as well as a horse-riding centre offering a variety of trails along the Groen Vlei lake, by the mountains or through the forest.
