Fully equipped, semi-detached, double storey self catering cottage. Upstairs is the master bedroom with queen size bed, air-conditioning, avant-garde open plan bathtub and a separate toilet and wash basin. Downstairs is the second bedroom with air-conditioning, two single beds and en-suite shower, wash basin & toilet. The kitchen is fully equipped with gas hob and electric oven, and is open plan with the lounge and dining room which has under floor heating, air-conditioning, TV with DSTV (Hotel Bouquet) and DVD player. Barbecue facilities are on the verandah and parking in front of the cottage. Situated on the north side of the property, this cottage has fantastic views over the valley, the Twelve Apostles Mountains in the west. The tariff is based on occupancy by four people.

Approximately 2km from the Common is the largest Bird Park in Africa, the World of Birds. There are many things to do and see, and staff will assist in arranging a boat trip to Seal Island, give you information on scuba diving, sailing, jet skiing, point you in the right direction to view whales during the season and advise where to go horse riding.
 
Relax in the serenity of your cottage or walk to the top of Table Mountain from your doorstep. The Mountain Retreat borders the Cecilia Forest which offers a vast network of walks and jogging paths through Kirstenbosch to Newlands Forest, stretching to the top of Table Mountain and Cape Town.
