Muizenberg

This unique beachside neighbourhood is a vibrant blend of history, architecture, wonderful beaches and culture. Muizenberg, located halfway between Lakeside and Kalk Bay in the southern suburbs of Cape Town, is perched up against the mountain of the same name. The miles-long beaches in False Bay are known for its surfing and are one of the few beaches in South Africa that clearly show the integration of the country's various ethnic groups. The beachside changing rooms are colourful and have been featured on numerous postcards. Similar to Kalk Bay, Muizenberg has its own theatre, the Masque Theatre, which presents a variety of performances, including ballet, comedy and jazz. Palmer Street in Muizenberg, which is home to quaint, colourful houses, organic stores and restaurants, is the hub of the old village and a great place to pass on a Saturday morning.
