Bayside Lodge, a 5 bed roomed bed & breakfast, is perfectly positioned in a quiet residential area of Plettenberg Bay. With its proximity to Pletts magnificent beaches, the unspoilt Robberg Nature Reserve, sporting facilities (including world class golf courses), shopping centres and restaurants, Bayside Lodge is a perfect base from which to explore the Garden Route and its myriad activities and attractions. Encompassing peace and tranquility, this four star graded lodge is a mere 3 minute walk from Pletts famous blue flag Robberg 5 beach. Excellent restaurants are a 6, 12 or 30 minute walk from Bayside and we can call a reliable taxi service for guests. Since taking over Bayside Lodge in March 2014, owner/managers Bernie and Adrienne have created a friendly atmosphere which is both warm and elegant. Personal attention and exceeding expectations are the hallmarks of this popular lodge.
Welcome briefings are given on arrival with hot/cold facecloths and a refreshing glass of juice. Guests are offered maps, brochures and discount vouchers for various activities, and bookings are made at recommended restaurants. Most guests enjoy the walk along Robberg beach to the superb restaurants on Central beach for dinner and come back to the lodge by taxi. Scrumptious breakfasts are served in the elegant dining room or patio overlooking the tranquil garden. The buffet offers a wide selection of fruit, cereal, yoghurt, cold meat, cheese, muffins and toast.
Packed breakfasts are available for guests departing early. Nestled in a secluded corner of the garden is a sparkling salt water swimming pool with umbrellas and comfortable pool loungers. The well-established garden is a tranquil place to relax and watch the great variety of birds visiting the bird feeders and bird baths. Our comfortable double volume guest lounge with under-floor heating and fireplace is perfect for relaxing and browsing through books or planning your next holiday. There is a large flat screen television with full DSTV bouquet and DVD player, a library as well as board games. Sundowners are enjoyed at the bar or on the patio, which also has a barbecue for guests to use.
The suites are all different with their own individual theme and feel, offering various options for guests. Honeysuckle has a Jacuzzi spa bath and Harmony its own lounge. Sunkissed and Lighthouse are perfect for a small group or family and finally Finch Cottage has a kitchen and sitting room with its own patio and barbecue. All suites have flat screen televisions, small fridges, tea/coffee making facilities, bathrobes, bathroom amenities, electronic safes, fans, heaters, snack baskets and mini bars. Families are welcome - Finch Cottage is available for parents with children under six and we do have a cot. There is off-street parking behind an electric gate and the property is covered by CCTV.
We recommend a two or three night stay in order to enjoy the beaches, Robberg Nature Reserve, the Plett wine route and the various animal sanctuaries at The Crags. Day trips combining Knysna and Sedgefield or Natures Valley, Tsitsikamma and Storms River are also a must!

The Harmony Suite

This is our largest suite - luxurious and sunny with its own private sitting room. Overlooking our tranquil gardens, the bay window adds to the spaciousness of this room. The en-suite bathroom has a roomy shower with tiled seating so you can enjoy your splash time in comfort and there is a dressing room with plenty of cupboard space. Mini-safe, fridge, television, tea/coffee making facilities, snack basket, heater, fan, beach towels, percale linen, bath robes and guest amenities are provided.

Finch Cottage (Self Catering)

Finch Cottage is set apart from the main lodge close to the (enclosed) swimming pool. It offers a patio and barbecue area and is most favoured by families with small children, or couples wanting privacy and the additional self-catering option. The afternoon sun streams into the attractive bedroom with its en suite bathroom neatly tucked away behind cupboard doors. The bathroom has been extended and completely refurbished, it now offers a walk in shower with seat/shelf for baby bath and two shower heads (one fixed and one moveable) and a separate toilet. The lounge has a sleeper couch and the kitchen is well equipped with microwave, counter top stove and oven, fridge and all utensils. Mini-safe, tea/coffee making facilities, snack basket, heater, fan, beach towels, percale linen, bath robes and guest amenities are provided.

Bell Rock Apartment

Two bedroom/one bathroom self catering north facing ground floor apartment located 400m from Bayside. There is a fully fitted kitchen, sitting room, patio with barbecue and small garden. One car port with extra parking for visitors within a walled complex with an electric gate and swimming pool. It is a 4 minute walk to Robberg beach or 4 minutes walk to Bayside.
Guests may use the complimentary wifi at Bayside. There is a restaurant two minute's walk from Bell Rock which offers all meals. The bed configuration is four single beds or a king and two single beds. The bathroom has a walk in shower. There is a television with full DSTV bouquet as well as a DVD player, music centre, electronic safe, heaters, electric blankets, fans and beach towels.

Important Information
- Children over the age of 12 charged at adult rate. We have one baby cot. Charge for one adult using sleeper couch in Harmony or Finch is R400 high season and R350 low season.
- During Peak Season from about the 15 December into January the whole house is let on a self-catering basis. Rate on application.
- Sunkissed is a two bedroom suite which can only be booked for two people if it is the last suite available Check- in times 14 - 1800 hrs
Cancellation Policy
- All bookings are subject to a minimum of 15% cancellation fee.
- Reservations cancelled 30+ days prior to arrival: refund of 75%
- Reservations cancelled 30 days prior to arrival: refund of 25% deposit
- Reservations cancelled less than 30 days prior to arrival: no refund
- In the event of premature departure the full extent of the stay as originally booked and confirmed will be charged. Refunds and waiver of cancellation policies are at the discretion of management and the ability to re-let the rooms.
